Timeline: HEX, PulseChain and PulseX

Short answer

HEX started on 3 December 2019 (00:00 UTC, day 0), the PulseChain and PulseX sacrifices ran in 2021–2022, and PulseChain forked from Ethereum on 10 May 2023, with the client release “PulseChain Mainnet Launch!” on 13 May 2023. Every entry links its source; times are UTC.

How are the dates chosen?

Dates come from code, chain data and repository records wherever possible: a contract constant, a block timestamp, a release or tag. When the on-chain moment and the commonly quoted date differ — HEX’s day 0 versus “2 December”, PulseChain’s fork block versus the 13 May release — the entry says so instead of picking one. Public announcement dates for the testnets, the bridge opening and the PulseX interface are not listed yet because they are not sourced.

Legal events around Richard Heart are on the separate legal timeline; this timeline lists his projects’ milestones only. The background to each period: HEX, PulseChain history, PulseX.

  1. // HEX

HEX day 0. The contract’s LAUNCH_TIME is 2019-12-03 00:00:00 UTC — still the evening of 2 December in US time zones, which is why 2 December is often quoted.

  2. // HEX

HEX contract deployed on Ethereum at 01:50:28 UTC, block 9,041,184.

  3. // HEX

Launch phase opens: daily ETH lobbies (the Adoption Amplifier) and, from day 1, free claims for Bitcoin holders. Both close after day 350 (the code accepts days below 351).

  4. // HEX

Big Pay Day (day 352): HEX for all never-claimed Bitcoin is paid out to the stakes active over that day. The launch phase is over; this does not recur.

  5. // PULSECHAIN

The go-pulse client repository is created on the official GitLab — a development marker, not a launch.

  6. // PULSECHAIN

    First client tag, go-pulse 0.1.0.

  7. // PULSECHAIN

PulseChain sacrifice phase opens; it closes on 2021-08-03. Dates as summarised by the court in SEC v. Schueler (ECF 57, 2025).

  8. // PULSECHAIN

Testnet V1: client tag 0.4.0; the public testnet guide with tPLS faucet instructions follows on 2021-09-28.

  9. // PULSECHAIN

    Testnet V2 (“R2”): guide updated on 2021-12-07, client 0.5.0 tagged on 2021-12-10.

  10. // PULSEX

PulseX sacrifice phase opens; it closes on 2022-02-26. Dates as summarised by the court in SEC v. Schueler (ECF 57, 2025).

  11. // PULSECHAIN

Testnet V2b: guide published on 2022-03-19, client 0.8.0 tagged on 2022-03-20.

  12. // PULSECHAIN

    Testnet V3: go-pulse v1.0.0 released (documentation from 2023-03-13).

  13. // PULSECHAIN

Testnet V4: go-pulse v2.0.0 released, with beacon-chain settings adjusted to correct issuance and validator returns. V4 (chain ID 943) carries Ethereum’s state as of block 16,492,699.

  14. // PULSECHAIN

Shanghai activated on Testnet V4 at 16:46:09 UTC (go-pulse v2.1.0).

  15. // PULSECHAIN

Fork block 17,233,000 produced at 22:52:51 UTC — the first block that differs from Ethereum. It adds the sacrifice credits and replaces the staking deposit contract.

  16. // PULSECHAIN

Block 17,233,001 at 06:23:15 UTC, the first block under PulseChain’s beacon chain; Shanghai active from 06:28:35 UTC.

  17. // PULSEX

PLSX token deployed at 13:08:55 UTC (block 17,235,435), PulseX v1 factory at 13:19:45 UTC (block 17,235,500). Deployment is not the public opening of the app.

  18. // PULSECHAIN

go-pulse v2.2.0 “PulseChain Mainnet Launch!” released at 00:43 UTC — the date usually given for the public launch.

  19. // PULSECHAIN

Official bridge token-mediator proxies deployed: PulseChain side at 09:03:55 UTC, Ethereum side at 09:04:59 UTC (Ethereum block 17,264,177).

  20. // PULSEX

PulseX v2 factory deployed at 08:55:55 UTC (block 17,413,326); the v2 router follows at 09:06:25 UTC.

  21. // PULSECHAIN

    go-pulse v3.0.0: rebased on go-ethereum 1.12.0, Proof-of-Work mining support removed. A client upgrade, not a network fork.

  22. // PULSECHAIN

    go-pulse v3.1.0: go-ethereum 1.13.5, path-based state storage.

  23. // PULSECHAIN

go-pulse v3.2.0: go-ethereum 1.13.13; Cancun support compiled in but not activated on PulseChain.

  24. // PULSECHAIN

go-pulse v3.3.0: go-ethereum 1.16.3; newer Ethereum forks supported for compatibility, PulseChain stays on Shanghai + Capella. Latest release as of 2026-10-17.

  25. // RICHARD HEART

ProveX sacrifice opens. The official configuration sets the window from 2025-11-12 00:00 to 2026-01-10 00:00 UTC; 24 networks at the start, 26 by 2025-11-30. The official tracker recorded HEX, HEX(eth), PLSX and INC sacrifices but valued them at $0. First Ethereum transaction at 01:50:47 UTC in block 23,779,976. See ProveX.

  26. // RICHARD HEART

Richard Heart explains ProveX in a 47-minute video: proofs of fiat payments built from TLS certificates, on top of the open-source ZKP2P software, with a token and token burning added.

  27. // RICHARD HEART

ProveX sacrifice closes at the end time in its official configuration. No official final total has been published; totals computed from chain data are on the sacrifice page.

  28. // RICHARD HEART

An earlier set of ProveX app contracts (escrow, orchestrator, registries) deployed on PulseChain, owned by the same key as the later version 4.

  29. // RICHARD HEART

PRVX token deployed on PulseChain in block 26,009,137, with a fixed supply and no admin functions; the deployer starts distributing it the same night. See PRVX.

  30. // RICHARD HEART

ProveX app contracts (escrow, orchestrator, registry, payment verifier — version 4) deployed on PulseChain.
